Canalside Studios

Canalside Studios is an award-winning development studio within the School of Computing and Engineering at the University of Huddersfield. It is supported by a team made up of staff, postgraduate and undergraduate students who are studying either Computer Games Design or Computer Games Programming.

Established in 2006, the Studio was one of the first of its kind in the UK.The pioneering work done by the University of Huddersfield has been instrumental in the start-up of other in-house games studios at institutions across the country.

Our hard work, skill and dedication has enabled us to build strong relationships with local and national games development communities. Alumni of Canalside Studios have gone on to work with some of the most famous and respected names in game development, including Rockstar, Rebellion Studios and Team 17.
